  • Yes! We provide one fire log per for use in the indoor fireplace (fire logs emit 50% less smoke, 85% less carbon monoxide, and 70% less particulate matter than firewood making them a generally more enjoyable and environmentally friendly option for our guests sensitive to smoke). Additional fire logs are available for purchase at nearby Ace Hardware.

  • The best hike near Cactus Moon House is Sugar Loaf Mountain, which is a short walk from the house and you can access via a secret neighborhood entrance (directions in the Guest Book at the house). From there, you can access Teacup and Thunder Mountain trails which are also highly recommended.

Our absolute favorite hike is Devil's Bridge, but be aware that it can be very popular. Tip- if you're up for a sunrise hike, you'll beat the crowds and likely see some hot air balloons taking off!

Soldiers Pass trail leads to a cave, sinkhole, and natural (small) pools. Soldiers Pass trailhead is usually closed for parking, but you can hike there on Teacup trail or the free Sedona Shuttle will take you there from Posse Grounds park, which is also walking distance from the house.

And finally, the 3 mi Airport Mesa loop just on the other side of 89A gives really nice views of all of Sedona. There's a decent restaurant up there too if you're hungry afterward.

Some trailheads (but not all) require a Red Rock pass ($5/ day, weekly and monthly option too). But if you've recently visited a National Park, the yearly America the Beautiful pass also works! And be sure to bring lots of water!
